Founded in 1989 by its current chairman and managing director Ridha Charfeddine. Unimed is one of the first Tunisian laboratories to have opened in Tunisia and ranks as the sixth largest company in the officinal market despite its niche specialisation in sterile forms of injectables and eyedrops. Currently the company has six production plants, 680 employees and 325 products with a marketing authorization. It currently looking at exports in sub-Saharan Africa as an opportunity to fuel its growth.
