Sanofi has a strong presence in Italy with offices in Milan, a Genzyme headquarters in Modena, industrial plants from north to south of the country and over 2,500 employees.
Sanofi Italy produces and markets drugs in all areas of activity of the Group, including: cardiovascular, diabetes, oncology, hematology, rare diseases and multiple sclerosis with Sanofi Genzyme, generics with Zentiva, and animal health with Merial.
In Italy, there is also a unit dedicated to the clinical trials on new drugs and a center of biotechnology at the Brindisi plant which carries out research on antibiotics.
