Sanofi has been operating in the Czech Republic since 1992, with a portfolio that includes innovative Sanofi medicines, over-the-counter medicines, Sanofi Pasteur vaccines, and Sanofi Genzyme rare-earth medicines. Sanofi’s main therapeutic areas in the country include cardiovascular diseases and thrombosis, central nervous system diseases, oncology, internal medicine and diabetes. Every fifth medicine used by Czech patients bears their logo. Sanofi focuses on finding new, more effective, but also cheaper and more patient-friendly treatment, spending around EUR 5 billion a year on research and development, which is set to increase to EUR 6 billion by 2020.
