Alfa Wassermann is a pharmaceutical group with an Italian heart and an international outlook. For over sixty years, it has researched, manufactured and distributed drugs of primary importance for human health, allowing people to benefit from new discoveries in medicine, biology and genomics. Alfa Wassermann´s strategy is to focus on the gastro-intestinal area. Already present in IBS, constipation and diarrhoea, with the launch of Rifaximin-alpha 500 they will be active in a further major gastro-intestinal related area, namely hepatic encephalopathy. In France market authorization was received for Rifaximin-alpha 500mg in January 2015. Alfa Wassermann and its partner Norgine will jointly promote and manage the clinical development of Rifaximine alpha 550 mg in France.
