Alfa Wassermann is a pharmaceutical group with an Italian heart and an international outlook. Alfa Wassermann´s strategy is to focus on the gastro-intestinal area. Already present in IBS, constipation and diarrhoea, with the launch of Rifaximin-alpha 500 they will be active in a further major gastro-intestinal related area, namely hepatic encephalopathy. In France market authorization was received for Rifaximin-alpha 500mg in January 2015. Alfa Wassermann and its partner Norgine will jointly promote and manage the clinical development of Rifaximine alpha 550 mg in France.
